Random Ramble #13.

‘Ello ‘Ello! It’s been a while since I’ve posted something on tumblr.  I can’t say it’s been especially busy but nothing interesting has popped up in a while. Life has been… well it’s been a tad boring.  I’ve been neglecting my homework (prime example right now), sleeping in late everyday (I’m really starting to feel like a cat) and I’ve been watching TV non-stop.  I mean the only slightly interesting thing going on would be the weather.  It’s starting to get warmer people. You know what that means… SPRING TIME IS ALMOST UPON US. Yes I’m sad that the snowboarding season is drawing to a close but at the same time I really can’t wait for the warm weather to finally hit us.  I’m tired of wearing jackets and sweaters all the time. It’s time to dress down and let loose!  Springtime also brings with it the end of the school year and a whole wack of future summer fun. Late nights out, work instead of school work during the weeks, friend visiting all day everyday for four months straight and some fun-injection into my rather dull life. Anyways, that was a random ramble about absolutely nothing.  I’m just procrastinating at this point.

Random Ramble #5.

I love to read. I’m definitely one of those undercover nerds who spend their free time reading almost any type of novel they can get their hands on. When you ask people what they do when they’re procrastinating they tell you “oh I’m playing a video game” or “I’m watching TV”.  If you ask me, I’ll tell you I’m reading. I read basically anything - romance, fiction, science-fiction, mystery, supernatural… Like right now I’m totally into this series called the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning.  It’s all about Fae, kickass girls and hot sexy men.  I started it about a couple days ago and I’m already on the third book.  So far the books are about 340 pages each, but they get longer as the series continues. So I suppose I’m a really fast reader.  Technically I have no time to read any of these books what with school and work and all, so I make time.  I’m the person who reads under their covers at night or disappears for hours on end only to show up around meal time.  I get irritated when I’m interrupted (which includes chores, eat, sleeping, and pee breaks). I’ve got to admit though, it sort of messes with my homework completion.  Instead of finishing that 20 page essay due by the next class, I’m reading some novel that has nothing to do with the course material at all. So bad.

I think I got this insane love for reading from my mom.  She reads all the time.  Like her, some times I HAVE to read before going to bed to shut my brain off.  Our living room looks like a one of those back rooms in the library where all the books are just sitting in piles all over the place waiting to be shelves or shipped off to places unknown.  It’s just so neat to know that there are hundreds of adventures waiting to be read.  We got the light reads, the heavy reads and everything in between.  Clearly we value literacy in the house.

While I’m on the topic of reading and free time - you should always spend a little quality time with yourself.  No homework, no work, no obligations to do anything.  Just spend some time snuggled up with a book (or a DS or you know whatever else you love doing) and a hot chocolate (although any drink will do) and unwind.  Being stressed out is never good.  It leads to a bad back, pimples, and pre-mature PMSing. So take a break, take a kit-kat bar. Just kidding. But seriously, life’s no fun if you don’t take even a minute for yourself to enjoy all the things life has to offer.
